Why is bathtub faucet dripping

Many at times after being repaired they may commence to leak. Especially when there old. So I usually mention to the customer if they would like a new tub shower valve. So not to have the inconvenience of it breaking down so often. And wasting water. I replaced the cartridge in my bathtub and now the faucet is dripping when I cut the water off.

What is the issue? This helped me greatly. I had a few hiccups.. This video was a great start! Thank you! They replaced the Delta tub spout and the all-in-one Delta faucet. Three months later, the tub is leaking worse than ever.

When I called them back, one plumber said I need a new hot water heater, and the other one said a new PRV. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! It is impossible to make any repairs with the water in your tub still running. Some homes allow you to turn off the water from under the sink. If that is not an option in your home, you may need to turn off the main water supply to the house while you make your repairs.

Once the water is turned off, turn the handles of your bathtub faucet as if you were trying to run a bath. This will allow you to drain any excess water from the pipes before you start. In order to replace the washers in your tub faucet, you will first need to remove the handles. Slide a shower stem socket over each faucet stem. Turn the socket counterclockwise. If the stems appear frozen, remove the socket and apply penetrating spray lubricant to the stem threads.

Give the lubricant 15 to 20 minutes to work. Slide the socket back over the stems and turn the socket counterclockwise to remove them. Insert a seat wrench into the openings left by the stems.

Turn the wrench counterclockwise to remove the old seats. Apply liquid thread sealant to the threads on the new seats. Install the new seats into the faucet openings and tighten clockwise with the seat wrench to secure them. Readable Font. Choose color black white green blue red orange yellow navi. Underline links.
