Recently, viewers who look back on "Chowder" fondly became a bit miffed to learn about a tiered list someone made that ranked Cartoon Network shows.
Twitter user LaNiece tweeted about the list and others made by the same person in and added a crying face emoji in response to the rankings. Others have noticed how low "Chowder" and other cherished shows were positioned.
Mung keeps yelling, snitzel keeps on saying "Radah Radah" and truffles that old fairy looking granny is annoying to the point where I can't believe she was voiced by Tara Strong. Heck my friends at my both schools didn't like this show, even my mom, dad and my sister hatted this show. In fact, everytime it was on TV, my dad told me to turn it off or said there is nothing on to watch.
I used to argue the case but I am thankful i listened. It was even annoying that one of my classmates who kept on getting told off in my fifth grade was on the Cartoon Network website everyday and constantly played clips of this show on repeat and getting bad influenced by it.
The animation is ugly, the character designs are okay, but stupid. The voice acting is fine but it's not there fault they had to work on this show. The only episode which was good was when all the voice actors show themself on screen and cleaned cars to get the budget of the animation back. I admit this got me interested in voice actors in cartoons, anime, video games and films. But my opinion still stands Chowder was a bad cartoon on cartoon network, if you enjoyed this show I am glad you have something to enjoy which i don't, and I am glad it got cancelled.
So, goodbye, and good riddance to a horrid show. I grew up watching this show as a kid and I have to say it brings back good memories! It's a shame this show ended so early though at least it went out with a bang. The main character is the title character who is aspiring to be a chef. Chowder's likable and goofy to watch whether he succeeds or not. Guiding him in his quest to be a chef is his mentor Mung Daal who is sometimes uptight yet caring and understanding. Chowder also has to deal with Mung's cranky wife Truffles and Mung's irritable assistant Schnitzel.
What makes the show great are the original stories, voice acting, wordplay, funny gags and fourth wall breaking at times. I should also mention the supporting characters too. Endive and her apprentice Panini who has a crush on Chowder, much to his dismay and Gorgonzola who is also great due to his pessimism and strong dislike of Chowder despite the latter's opposite feelings.
My favorite episode is The Apprentice Games because of the gags as well as how well the characters work off each other from Mung and Endive's rivalry to Panini and Ceviche's friendship. Bottom line, I can't say enough as to how great this show is. I highly recommend it. GravityLoudHouseLover1 23 July Hey Guys it's me RegularShow1 here again and today going to review "Chowder" a show used to be on Cartoon Network and now airs on Boomerang as of June 2, You might think this show is weird at first but its very unique like the characters are named after different kids of food.
My Favorite episode is "Chowder's Girl Friend" which was in season 1. Greenblatt who is who also the creator of the Nickelodeon "Harvey Beaks" which is an awesome show btw. Anyway this was really good show and I'm giving 10 out 10 stars. Anyway I'm going also do a review on "Harvey Beaks" maybe tomorrow or Saturday. Anyway this RegularShow1 signing off. See you. Adele 26 February It is an entertaining cartoon about cooking. It has odd and eccentric characters. TheMysteriousReviewer 13 July Chowder has been one of the shows from Cartoon Network I grew up with, and it's still an enjoyable series to this day.
It may not be one of the network's best shows with some gross jokes and Panini appearing out-of-place each episode, but the series can be fun thanks to a nice premise it's going for. A coming of age story about Chowder as an apprentice and has to learn what it takes to be the head chef of a catering company.
The characters are also hilarious, especially Schnitzel. Schnitzel is literally me and does some of the reactions and actions I would do. The animation is creatively colorful. And the comedy itself mostly ages well. The most I have laughed at is with the fourth wall breaks. Those moments are clever because the series knows the show is weird.
Of course, I would say it's worth a watch for those that are like me and feel nostalgic for Cartoon Network and used to watch it a lot. It may not be too satisfying, but it was a pretty funny meal. Since this is a new show there isn't much I can tell you: The characters are all really weird looking What IS Chowder anyway? A cat???
A bunny????? For me Schnitzel is the break-through "star" of the show Most of the story lines so far revolve around food, as Chowder is sort of an apprentice chef. And the jokes are all over the map from goofy to fart jokes to stuff I think is aimed more at the grown up audience.
This show has that certain type of humor that works for both kids AND grownups. I made him watch it and I felt totally embarrassed as I proceeded to laugh so hard that I actually cried! He didn't feel as strongly as I did about it, but he DID agree it was a "pretty good show". I'm glad to come on here and see that I am not the only person older than 12 who enjoys this hilarious, bright, witty new show! I was 10 years old when Chowder first premiered, and already, I admired Chowder.
Chowder was literally one of Cartoon Network's last great shows. Yes, I know people don't like this show, but I did. The series follows an aspiring young child named Chowder and his day-to-day adventures as an apprentice in Chef Mung Daal's catering company. Although he means well, Chowder often finds himself in predicaments due to his perpetual appetite and his nature as a scatterbrain. This is arguably the show that tried to save Cartoon Network from going downhill, and I think this is the best show to come out of Cartoon Network's dark age.
I know it can be a bit uncomfortable and gross at time, but it also makes up for it by delivering really creative uses of animation, wonderful characters, heartfelt moments, and beautifully hilarious jokes. Great cartoon! Parents: This show mostly has no objectionable material, except that Chowder is a fat guy and would eat everything. Critical: Some of the most awesome visuals ever in a TV cartoon.
Hilarious to the bone. Episode ideas are OK. Characters are imaginative. Great pacing, too! It was my favorite show on CN back when it was on. Shame it's cancelled, considering it's from a former Spongebob writer. Kid, 11 years old February 15, P What the heck did you just do, CN? Thi show marked the insanity of cartoon network that we now have today. If I could rewrite history, one of the first things I would change.
Kid, 11 years old February 14, Best show of my childhood This title contains: Positive Messages. Kid, 11 years old December 26, Humorous show is sure to make anyone laugh, but pretty gross Let's face it. This is a pretty gross cartoon with a lot of crudity. But when you watch an episode or two, you start to realize that it is terribly creative.
Not only is it creative, it's sure to entertain anyone that has at least ONE funny bone in your body. If anything, this is definitely kid-friendly.
Now, with adults, you might want to watch an episode with your kids. But Chowder will appeal to kids, so you should give it a shot. Kid, 8 years old August 30, Positive Messages.
